Therapeutic Yoga in Small Groups
Yoga is an ancient philosophy of living that is practiced, experienced and explored. Practically speaking, it is a description of reliable steps for finding balance in life.
Viniyoga is an approach to yoga that focuses on the individual and their needs. The physical practice of yoga is one aspect or facet. There also is a focus on breathing, gentle movement of the spine and developing a sense of calm. A viniyoga approach to yoga may challenge an individual’s body, attention and breath. So, viniyoga can be as challenging or as gentle as needed.
A regular yoga practice may benefit the body, focus attention, develop breath and manage stress.
Yoga therapy is applied yoga that meets individual needs. Both yoga and yoga therapy use the same tools and holistic models to move towards balance. A yoga practice may include postures, breath, visualizations, and meditation to change how the person interacts or responds. A group yoga therapy class is a general yoga practice, may have a specific theme and is a community of people with similar interests.
